APSU faced Murray State on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the Dunn Center. According to lesgopeay.com, the Govs fell to Murray in four sets (25-19, 19-25, 21-25, 21-25).
Despite losing the match, APSU still put up impressive numbers. Brooke Moore and Ashley Slay led the Govs in kills with 17 each, and Kaylee Taff trailed behind them with nine.
Senior Allie O’Reilly also reached 1,000 career digs. O’Reilly went into the match only needing 16; however, she posted her personal best of 32.
They played their final match of the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 11 against Morehead State. They finished the season strong with a three-set victory (25-23, 25-20, 25-18), which confirmed APSU seized the OVC regular season title.
Kristen Stucker wrapped up the regular season with a total of 1,338 assists, which matches her total from last season. Stucker is only 117 assists away from surpassing Annie Glieber, who holds the program record at 1,445.
Slay’s final regular season match saw her post 11 kills, and she ends the regular season with 443. Slay only needs 34 more kills in the post season to pass Isabel Canedo, who is currently third in program history with 477 kills.
APSU will host the Quarterfinals on Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Dunn Center against Southeast Missouri (11-19, 6-10 OVC). The Govs shutout SEMO 3-0 twice on the season. The semifinals and the final are scheduled for the following days.
