After 48 seasons in the Winfield Dunn Center at Austin Peay State University, the Govs are ready to kick off their 2023-24 season at home on Nov. 6 against Life in the new F&M Bank Arena.
If you cannot wait until Nov. 6, the Govs will unofficially open their season with a home exhibition game on Nov. 1. Game information will be announced at a later date.
The Govs will head to California for the 2023 SoCal Challenge in San Juan Capistrano, California Nov. 17-22. They’ll be joined by Cal State Bakersfield, Sacramento State, and Tarleton State in the Sand Division.
We will see some rivalry play when the Govs take on Morehead State at home on Nov. 29 and Tennessee State on Dec.2 at the Gentry Center in Nashville. The biggest, and oldest, rivalry match will take place at home against Murray State.
Both men’s and women’s basketball will host the Racers on Dec. 9. It’s an 81-year-old rivalry and the men’s team looks to take their first win since 2020.
The 2023-24 season will highlight Austin Peay’s fresh start with their new home at F&M Bank Arena with six home games, seven new first- time opponents, and Corey Gipson’s first season as a head coach.
