APSU athletics’ will be introducing a new pregame entertainment experience, Stache Street.
This innovation is currently in the works and will be ready for the Govs’ season opener against North Carolina Central, August 29.
“Stache Street” will be located on Marion Street in front of Fortera Stadium and the Foy Fitness Center.
Unfortunately, because of this new activity, the Foy Fitness Center will be closed before each home game during the 2019 season.
Although others might think this is the best innovation yet, some students at APSU who visit the Foy Center often find this upsetting.
“It’s cool, but I love the Foy. This cuts into my exercise time,” sophomore Tezala Danner said.
On the other hand, students will enjoy various amounts of food options, fun games and inflatables.
Food trucks such as Skyline American Grill, PJ’s NY City Dogs, Hibachi 4 Hire, Legends Smokehouse BBQ, Dos Margaritas Taco Truck and the famous Kona Ice of Greater Clarksville will be available to fans.
Not only will Gov fans enjoy the food, but APSU athletics have also provided the mobile game truck Gamez on Wheelz.
The entertainment does not stop at food and games, popular Nashville based master on the beats, DJ Tro will be joining in on the fun adding music to the experience.
Before the 7 p.m kickoff against North Carolina Central August 29, APSU athletics will work with the APSU police to close parking along Marion Street beginning at 3 p.m.
Stache Street will open at 4 p.m. and will remain open until 30 minutes before kickoff. Marion Street will reopen to normal traffic at 7 p.m during kickoff.
Senior Deunta Jefferies believes this is by far the “best thing yet.” APSU athletics has given many Gov fans a rush of excitement for this upcoming 2019-2020 season.
