Govs women’s tennis team annihilated Carson-Newman, Friday, at the Governors Tennis Center.
The Govs won every match, advancing to a 4-0 victory.
The Govs set the tone early, winning all three doubles matches by 6-1 or 6-2 scorelines.
Claudia Yanes Garcia was the first Gov to claim a point in singles, easily defeating her opponent, Ali Harris, 6-1, 6-2.
Linda Yanes Garcia, OVC Player of the Year 17-18, was unbeaten in singles against opponent Ana Carla Resende 6-7, 6-2, 10-3.
The Yanes-Garica Twins dominated in doubles defeating Ana Carla Resende and Ali Harris (6-2).
Helena Kuppig, Danielle Morris, and Ana Albertson also swept the tournament with 4-6 singles spots, all in straight sets.
This match counts as the Govs second straight 7-0 victory.
Govs will continue this undefeated season against the Cumberland University Phoenix’s Tuesday, at 1:30 pm.
