The Chronicle of Higher Education named APSU as one of its “Great Colleges to Work for” for the fifth year straight.
The Chronicle awarded APSU the distinction after reviewing a survey of employees and determining good workplace policies. The publication placed APSU on the list due to its favorable “teaching environment” and “tenure clarity and process.”
In a statement given to The Chronicle, President Alisa White said, “Austin Peay State University is a great place to work because the employees take ownership of the institution. We take responsibility for the institution and one another.”
92 other institutions join APSU on the list, including Baylor, the University of Mississppi and the University of Notre Dame. APSU is the only four-year university in Tennessee to receive the distinction from The Chronicle.
The Chronicle is a newspaper catering to higher education faculty and administration and has published “Great Colleges to Work for” since 2008.
