“Bonnaroo and music festivals around the world have become a staple for the way music is performed,” Houck said. “People get to see a spectrum of music that they normally wouldn’t see otherwise.”
Bonnaroo 2014 will bring 13 years to the music festival hosted in Manchester, Tenn. from Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, June 15.
Each year a different theme is incorporated into the festival and this year will be no different. A psychedelic, neon theme will be spread throughout the festival grounds and stages.
The lineup for Bonnaroo 2014 includes major artists Jack White, Elton John, Wiz Khalifa, Skrillex, Vampire Weekend and many more. More than 100 artists are booked to perform throughout this four-day festival starting around 2 p.m. and lasting until 5 a.m. daily.
Band, Phosphorescent has been set to come back to Bonnaroo this year for a performance. Their last appearance at Bonnaroo was in 2011 and lead singer, Matthew Houck said he is excited for “the sweaty, rock-n-roll concert” and the sense of wonder that accompanies it.
Houck said Phosphorescent’s performance would be more rock-n-roll than an acoustic set.
Houck said Phosphorescent won’t be debuting any new songs at Bonnaroo, but there might be a couple of surprises in store for their performance.
Phosphorescent is scheduled to perform on Saturday, June 14 at 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. at This Tent.
