A shooting involving a fatality occurred in the Lincoln Homes neighborhood near campus sometime between Saturday evening, April 6, and early Sunday morning, April 7, according to an APSU campus safety bulletin.
According to a Clarksville Police Department news release, on April 7, 2013, around 3:22 a.m., police responded to a shooting in progress in the area of Lincoln Drive. When Police arrived, they found a 32 year old woman, who had been shot, laying on the ground between the 26 and 27 Buildings on Lincoln Drive. The woman was transported from the scene to Gateway Hospital where she was pronounced dead after 4 a.m.
Clarksville police is investigating, and there is no known information about the possible suspect or suspects at this time. According to the news release, the officers on scene were provided very little information about the events which lead up to the shooting nor suspect information.
