Serdarian Brown, aged 22, has been identified by Clarksville Police Department (CPD) as the person shot and killed in the area outside Hand Village last Sunday night. Two men, one a minor, have been charged with criminal homicide and have been taken into custody.
According to CPD Public Information Officer Jim Knoll’s Advisory, the suspects had been visiting friends in Clarksville from Memphis, TN. The CPD reported that based on testimony gathered after the shooting, Brown was called to the location in order to deliver drugs to a buyer.
Upon arrival, the two alleged perpetrators approached the car and took steps to rob Brown. The unidentified 17 year old is alleged to have confronted Brown with a gun. The other man, identified as Joshua Watkins, allegedly opened the passenger door and started rummaging through the car. At some point, the victim was shot.
According to earlier reporting, neither the victim nor the alleged perpetrators were associated with the Austin Peay State University community.

Sources on the scene provided preliminary name of the suspects to the CPD, after which they were located at an apartment complex on Nolen Road and apprehended without incident. Watkins was remanded, without bond. The juvenile suspect was taken to a juvenile detention facility. Both were charged with criminal homicide.
Austin Peay Campus Police first responded to the call at about 10:10 pm Sunday, October 27th. They recovered shell casings in the parking lot outside of Hand Village, nearest to the freshman dorms.
