Austin Peay State University suffered its first loss at F&M Bank Arena in the final home game of the season on Feb. 25 to Central Arkansas 93-88. This means the Governors didn’t go undefeated at home during the season; however, they can still outright win the Atlantic Sun regular-season championship against Bellarmine University.
Governors of the Game
Collin Parker had 29 points for the Governors with the help of five made 3-pointers. Parker also had six rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block.
Rashaud Marshall had 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Marshall shot 8-for-13 in the impressive performance.
Bears of the Game
Javion Guy-King had a whopping 34 points with six 3-pointers made, tying teammate Ty Robinson for the most 3-pointers made in the game. Guy-King also had four rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Camren Hunter had 20 points with six rebounds, three assists and a steal.
The Governors look to win the ASUN outright on Saturday, Feb. 28 in Kentucky against Bellarmine in Knights Hall. This will conclude the regular season for the Governors before they move on to the ASUN Tournament in Jacksonville, Florida, where they will play for a chance to compete in March Madness.
