Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team began its 2025 campaign with a 4-1 exhibition win over Tusculum on Sunday at the Winfield Dunn Center.
The match marked the debut of Head Coach Evan Amstutz, who takes over the program with a roster that includes one returner, six freshmen and nine transfers. Of the nine transfers, eight have previous NCAA Division I experience. The lone returner, sophomore Dani Kopacz, recorded 76 kills in the 2024 season.
Austin Peay won the first four sets of the exhibition match before Tusculum claimed the fifth. Key contributors included Kopacz, Dayan Malavé, Reaghan Larkin, Lauren Wallace and Sianna Dykes, with the team showing a mix of offensive production and defensive coverage across multiple rotations.
Austin Peay now turns its attention to the Stacheville Challenge, where it will host Murray State, Xavier and Tennessee Tech from Aug. 29–30 at the Winfield Dunn Center.
