Matt Enright scored a season-high 19 points as Austin Peay State University men’s basketball defeated Florida Gulf Coast 83-63 on Thursday, Jan. 22, at F&M Bank Arena.
Enright knocked down five three-pointers. Rashaud Marshall added 14 points and led the team with eight rebounds, while Zyree Collins and Collin Parker each scored 12 points.
Florida Gulf Coast scored first, but a Tate McCubbin three-pointer gave Austin Peay its only lead change of the night. The Governors built a double-digit lead and held a 41-29 advantage at halftime.
Austin Peay extended its lead throughout the second half, pushing the margin to more than 20 points. The Governors committed just one turnover in the second half and forced 18 turnovers overall.
With the win, Austin Peay remained undefeated at home and extended its home winning streak. The victory also marked the program’s eighth straight home win and continued a streak of consecutive games with a made three-pointer that dates to 2002.
The Governors will host Stetson on Friday, Jan. 23, at F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville.
