About National Dog Day:
Each year, every dog owner and dog lover’s favorite day follows around a day otherwise known as National Dog Day—a day dedicated to celebrating the love, loyalty and energy of your canine companion.
The All State Dogs:
A highlight of the day was sharing photos of our favorite pups. Two staff members from The All State shared photos of their dogs along with a little bit about them and their favorite thing about their furry companion.
Senior staff writer, Lucas Bales shared about his dog, Bear. Their favorite activities together include going on runs and working with goats. Bales’ favorite thing about being a dog owner is being able to go on road trips with Bear.

Finally, I have two family dogs, Ellie and Oliver. Their favorite activities include walks, playing catch and lots of cuddles. My favorite part about having dogs is having a loyal companion to come home to after a hard day.

Activities to Celebrate throughout the day and week:
There are lots of ways to celebrate the appreciation of your furry friend. Some businesses in town will also help celebrate them a little extra throughout the day and week:
- The park or dog parks (many of the parks in Clarksville are dog-friendly)
- Heritage Dog Park
- King’s Run Dog Park
- Fetch
- New Treats – either buy at the pet store, recipes online or a pup cup from coffee shops!
- New Toys – many pet stores will have sales for toys and treats for the special day!
- Photoshoot – either at the park or at home to update the picture frames, to have in your phone gallery or even just an excuse to post your furry friend!
- Don’t have a dog? Go to the animal shelter! Either volunteer, show the dogs some extra love and affection or even adopt a dog if you meet the special canine companion you have been searching for!
The All State hopes every dog and dog owner at APSU has a great day and week celebrating their favorite pup(s)!
