It’s halftime in Des Moines, Iowa and the Govs are losing by 20. The score is 48-28 and APSU has shot 10-27 from the field and only made one 3-pointer out of eight shots.
For the Govs, sophomore Josh Robinson leads with 14 points.
Chris Horton has more rebounds right now than points. He has scored 4 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Govs.
Freshman guard and avid 3-point shooter Jared Savage is currently 0-3 on 3-pointers and has only scored 3 points.
Savage, Robinson and Porter-Bunton each have two fouls entering the half while Horton only has one.
For Kansas, the Jayhawks are 17-35 from the field and 4-12 from the 3-point line. Senior Perry Ellis leads the Jayhwaks with 13 points. For 3-point shots, Svi Mykhailiuk is 3-4 and right behind Ellis with 11 total points.
The Govs have shown a 19-point deficit is something they can overcome, but if they want to come back and score 20 points on the No. 1 team in the country, they must find an offensive rhythm. Horton will have to score more than 4 points in the next half if he wants his senior season to continue.
