Austin Peay State University honored a new class of campus leaders at the induction ceremony for Omicron Delta Kappa. Held in the Morgan University Center Room 303, faculty, family and peers came together to celebrate students whose leadership has made a lasting impact on the APSU community.
“It’s a great achievement and an honor to be selected and noticed in the entire school. I’m honoured to accept this and I’ll definitely continue my service to the school and the good I’ve done so far,” said Kennedy Njoku, a graduate student in Financial Mathematics.
Reflecting on his journey at APSU, Njoku said his leadership has grown significantly since arriving on campus in 2024.
“I’ve achieved so much. I’ve improved so much in my leadership,” Njoku said, “From voicing student concerns in SGA to leading programs in the K-Center, there has definitely been a change in my leadership skills. I know there’s still room for improvement, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come.”
Other students inducted at the ceremony were Skylar Baggett, Selena Ballard, Stephanie Bandel, Wendy Cardenas, Sherry Comperry, Ariyunna Eaton, Tanairy Franqui-Guzman, Ashley Haley, Jessica Holland, Emmalee Langlois, Avery Neufeld, Sikem Nkwawir, Alysia Norales, Makayla Richardson, Derek Rosone, Poppy Ryder, Sara Schwinn, Kara Smith, Madelyn Steele and Robin Tandarich.
Looking ahead, Njoku hopes to continue representing ODK’s values both on and off campus.
“In the principles of ODK, service is essential,” Njoku said. “Wherever I am, whether it be at Austin Peay or outside Austin Peay, I’ll represent ODK. I’m always open to serving my community.”
