UPDATE: The road is now open, but Clarksville Police are still recommending caution to drivers that may have come into contact.
Drivers are warned not to take their vehicle to car washes until the tires are replaced.
A sulphuric acid spill has caused a road closing for an undetermined amount of time between Hillwood Drive and Hawkins Road on Cumberland Drive.
According to a press release from Clarksville Police Department, a citizen saw an unidentified substance on the road.
The press release claims the leak was from a Palm Trucking tanker out of Lavergne. Clarksville Police advises anyone who may have driven through the affected area should check their tires for possible damage.
Clarksville Police are asking the public to stay away from the area.
