Austin Peay State University football is preparing for the 2026 season as the United Athletic Conference (UAC) expands to eight teams with the addition of the University of West Florida as a football affiliate. The updated schedule was released April 2, 2026, setting up a competitive slate for the Governors.
Austin Peay travels to Pensacola on Sept. 19 to face West Florida in its first meeting as conference opponents. The Governors return home on Oct. 10 to host Tarleton State. The following week, Austin Peay hits the road to take on West Georgia on Oct. 17 before returning to action against North Alabama on Oct. 24.
Eastern Kentucky visits Clarksville on Nov. 7, followed by another home game against Abilene Christian on Nov. 14. The regular season wraps up Nov. 21 with a road game at Central Arkansas.
The final stretch of the season leads into the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoff selection on Nov. 22, with postseason play beginning Nov. 28. Austin Peay will look to build momentum late in the season as it competes for a spot in the playoffs.
