The Eriksson College of Education hosted the first of this year’s Edu Morning Brew events from 9-11 a.m. on the second floor of the Claxton Building Tuesday, Sept. 3. A casual, walk-ins welcome meeting intended to increase engagement with the College of Education by inviting students, faculty and staff to enjoy free coffee and snacks.
The college’s Director of Communications Megan Simpson, who organized the event, explained this will be the second year of the monthly Edu Morning Brew. Her aim is to have the table set up the first Tuesday of every month at the same time.
Whether they were on the way to class or there for the whole time, all students were welcome to take advantage of the available items.
“This is a way for us to give a little something back,” said Simpson.
Faculty members were encouraged to stick around to meet with students and other visitors. About 40 to 50 people, according to Simpson, stop by every time they host.
Overall, Simpson’s goal is to get people involved and engaged with the Erikkson College of Education, education major or not.
