I think one of the worst things that can happen to a nerd–other than a power outage hours after your last save or running out of Pokeballs–is writer’s block. This is specific to a particular kind of nerd, which is the book-ish type, and that’s the type of nerd I happen to be, obviously.
This blog has been a lot of fun despite all of the lists and gif hunting I’ve had to do, but it was never supposed to last forever. I’m starting to feel like Goku with a Spirit Bomb, like I’m taking forever. I think I’ve fallen and gathered enough energy to finish this once and for all. That metaphor might have gotten away from me a little bit, but I think the point is clear.
When I get writer’s block, I’ve always found that the best thing to do is to change things up. Whatever you’re writing at the time isn’t working so you need to start on something else. Let it be known that I take my own advice.
I’ve still got a lot of nerdy things to say, like “No matter what anyone says, I like ‘Final Fantasy XIII’ the best” or “‘Minecraft’ gives me the worst motion sickness, but I don’t even mind” but I think it’s time I got back to solo gaming.
So there you have it, ladies and gents. Live long and prosper, may the force be with you, watch how I soar, the army’s no match for NORA and so on.
